Different types of Camera Shots, Angles and Movement Video

Close Up - The focus of the shot takes up at least 80% of it. It can be used to create empathy and closeness to a character by closing down "personal space". Extreme Close Up - The camera picks out a feature of a person, object or place and magnifies it, thus giving it significance. High Angle Shot - The camera is above the subject looking down on them. Narrative Application The narrative of the documentary is non-linear, as there will be uses of flashback to the archive footage, interspersed among the present day footage. Coursework - Rehearsal Footage

Although originally rehearsal footage, as filming was going well, it is now the actual footage that I am going to use in the film. I am happy with the elements of mise-en-scene, as lighting, costume, hair & make-up, etc... were kept naturalistic to portray realism, and where possible I left the camera running to capture as many moments as I could (direct cinema/'cinema verité', Pennebaker) - although I did occasionally have to angle the camera so that he could react to archive footage ('creative treatment of actuality', Grierson). Although there were moments where it felt staged, most of the footage is him just having a conversation as it came to mind.
